Fill links
Send a respondent a personal link to answer a survey without the widget, for example in an order e-mail or a support reply.
Fill links
A fill link opens the survey for one respondent, without logging in and without the widget on your site. Use it where the widget can't reach: an e-mail after an order, a reply to a support ticket, an SMS.
Generate a link
In the panel, you can generate a link from three places:
- Survey list: Add response ▾ → Generate a link.
- Survey view: the same Add response ▾ dropdown. On mobile it's in the ⋯ menu.
- Responses: Add response ▾ → Generate a link, then pick the survey.
The optional Reference field takes an order number or a ticket id. A second link with the same reference for the same survey is refused with "A response already exists for this reference", unless the survey allows multiple responses from the same person (see Publishing changes and limits).
How a link behaves
- One link, one response. Once it's answered, opening it again shows an empty page. It can't be submitted twice.
- Always the current version. The link shows the survey's current published version. If you edit and publish the survey after generating the link, the respondent sees the updated questions.
- Pending until answered. Until then, the link shows up in Responses as a pending response.
A generated link counts towards your monthly response limit the moment it is generated, not
when it is answered. See Plans and billing.
Generate links through the API
You can also generate links with an API key (rq_live_…): send POST /api/v1/surveys/{surveyId}/fills,
with an optional externalId. See Using the API with an API key
