The Insights tab groups a survey's open-text answers into repeating themes. Each theme has a short name and a one-line description — the only text on this screen the model writes — and a set of quotes underneath it that back that theme up.

Quotes are evidence, not paraphrase

Every quote shown under a theme is a contiguous fragment copied character for character from a real response — never a summary and never a rewrite. A theme keeps only the quotes that match this way; a quote that isn't found verbatim in its answer is dropped, and a theme left with too few surviving quotes is dropped with it rather than shown on thin evidence. Clicking a quote opens it in context, alongside the rest of that response.

How much of the survey a theme covers

Each theme shows what share of the period's answers it accounts for, and — once a previous period is available for comparison — how that count changed since then. A theme that's new this period, or that had too few answers in the previous one to compare against, says so instead of guessing at a percentage.

Recomputing

Insights aren't recalculated on every page view. A count and its quotes stay as they were last computed until you click Recompute, which regroups every answer in the selected period again from scratch — this is also how a theme's name can change, since the model is free to name the groups differently each time it regroups them.
